Fall fun

It sure has been a long time since I have been to my blog site. Sorry to those people who come here to see pics of the boys. We have been busy doing a lot of things. We remodeled the basement in order to create an area for the boys to play and to eventually do some homeschooling. It feels so good to have that space in the basement for the boys to grow and learn in. Harrison has been busy learning his sight words and can even recognize a few of them when we are reading books together. I can't believe he will be 4 in a few short weeks. Corbin is also growing quickly. He is still more of a grunter than a talker but I am sure he will get there soon enough. Today though when I was changing his diaper, I heard him say "diaper". Of course, he refuses to repeat it so no one besides me has heard him say it. I just going to post some pics of the boys hanging out in the leaf piles for those who want to see how much they have grown.

My birthday

Well I am officially another year older and I had a fantastic birthday! My husband surprised me with a wonderful one hour massage on the morning of my birthday. If you have never gotten a massage before I would recommend it. There is nothing more relaxing. Thank you honey for the gift and for taking care of the kids while I was away. The boys also got me a brand new digital camera for my day that is just for me. So don't be surprised if you see more pictures go up of my family. I have been having lots of fun with my new toy. In the evening, we joined my mom, dad, and brother Josh for a night of bowling for charity with the Valley Home Builders Assoc. We all had a great time! Here are some pics from the day and evening.

Breakfast with Clifford

Holy cow, it's been a long time since I sat down to blog. Never fear though. We are all healthy and both of the boys are growing to be such little men. Harrison has discovered the concept of jokes and enjoys telling them any chance he can get. Of course the jokes a three year old produces aren't always the funniest, but just hearing his belly laugh makes me laugh too. Corbin is approaching the 8 month mark. He is stubborn when it comes to crawling, but he loves to pull himself up on things and he likes to walk if you hold his fingers. Surprisingly, even though he does not enjoy crawling, he is able to get around quite a bit. He sits up and falls over then rolls a little bit. Whatever works for him I guess! Today we had a great family fun day at the Building for Kids. We had breakfast with Clifford the Big Red Dog and enjoyed playing all morning at their new Clifford exhibit. It is something I recommend checking out. The kids had a lot of fun.

Apple picking

Our family tried something new this fall. We went apple picking and had a great time. We had so much fun, we ended up going home with 25 pounds of apples. The kids found so many good ones. We have a new addition to our day to day adventures. I am watching a friend of mines little girl. We are having a great time, and trying to find as many things as possible to keep us busy. The kids loved picking apples. The only problem we had was trying to convince them to pick the apples off the trees, and not the ones from off the ground. The next time you are at our house, don't be surprised if you get to eat some apple pie, or muffins or bread, or apple sauce. I think we will be set for a while.

Corbin at Two Months

I took my "little" man to the doctor this week for his two month checkup. He is doing quite well. He is currently 23.5" tall(65%), 14lbs. 2oz.(90%), and has a head circumference of 38.5cm(14%). Yes he has a tiny head, but it is growing. He is all body complete with man boobs and a double chin. What can I say, he is a good eater! I hope to post some pictures within the next couple of days. Life at home is chaotic, and not for the faint of heart. I love the time I get to spend with my boys and Rob, but I have a feeling I will be buying hair dye on a more regular basis!

My handsome boys

I feel truly blessed to have such beautiful, healthy boys. What a wonderful summer I had watching Harrison and Corbin getting to know one another! I look forward to many more memories and milestones this fall. For those of you who don't know, I made the difficult decision to quit my job at Little Chute Elementary School. I am excited to make this next step in my life of being a stay at home mom. Please pray for my family as we begin a new adventure and try not to drive each other crazy!

My baby is 1 month old!

I can't even believe that Corbin has been a part of our lives for one month already. I have to say having two was not as difficult as I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong. Some days are definitely a challenge, especially with a very strong willed two year old. What makes it easier is knowing what is coming and being more relaxed about taking care of an infant, because you know you will get through it eventually. I know I am not as patient as I should be with Harrison sometimes, but I am working on it every day. The biggest challenge I have is maintaining an organized house. There are just not enough hours in a day! It is exciting and yet a little sad to see Corbin growing so fast, because I know he is my last baby. And no I won't be changing my mind about that!
